Frequently Asked Questions

Traditional Makeup vs. Airbrush Makeup

Traditional Makeup: Applied with hand tools such as brushes, beauty blenders, or sponges, traditional makeup allows for an even finish that can range from a natural dewy glow to a matte, full-coverage look. This method includes options like BB cream and full-coverage foundations, along with a long-wear setting spray for lasting results.

Airbrush Makeup: Applied as a fine mist using an airbrush pen, airbrush makeup is waterproof and photographs beautifully. It offers customizable coverage, from light to full, and is ideal for achieving a healthy, well-hydrated appearance. Non-comedogenic and hypoallergenic, airbrush makeup provides a smooth, lightweight finish that includes a long-wear setting spray, ensuring it remains transfer-resistant, weatherproof, sweatproof, and waterproof. It’s perfect for both natural looks and serves as an excellent base for dramatic or creative styles.

Which Type of Makeup Should I Choose?

Choosing the right type of makeup depends on several factors, including personal preferences, skin type, desired coverage, and longevity. It’s best to consult with your stylist, who can help you determine the most suitable option for your specific occasion.

How Long Will My Makeup Last?

Your professional makeup application is designed to last all day and into the night!

Do I Need to Bring My Own Makeup or Hair Styling Products?

In most cases, you won’t need to bring any products or tools for your makeup or hair appointment. However, there are some exceptions. If you have specific brand preferences, skin irritations or allergies, please bring your own skincare, haircare products, and makeup that you know work well for you. Additionally, with your stylist's approval, you may bring your own 100% Real Human Hair-clip-in hair extensions if you wish to incorporate them into your hair services. Clip Install is an additional service and is not included in the normal pricing.

How Long Does a Makeup Application Take?

A professional special occasion makeup application can range between 45 minutes to 1.5 hours. Applications for bridal party members and loved ones generally take about 45 minutes to 1 hour, while the bride’s makeup application usually requires 1 to 1.5 hours. More intricate looks may require additional time.

How Much Time Is Needed for Hair Styling?

Hair styling generally takes 35 to 45 minutes for heat styling, including curls, or smooth styles. For half or full updos, the process may take 1 to 1.5 hours. Please note, longer hair or styles such as Hollywood waves or those requiring clip-in extensions may take additional time.

    1 to 3 Months Prior:
Pay special attention to any problem areas, such as acne spots and dry patches. Exfoliate and moisturize your skin, and schedule any necessary appointments with your esthetician for optimal skincare.

    Days Before Your Appointment:
Avoid facials or other skincare procedures within a few days of your makeup application, and refrain from waxing any areas of your face in the days leading up to your appointment. Be sure to get plenty of rest and stay hydrated.

On the Day of Your Appointment:
Wash your hair the night before and arrive with clean, blow-dried hair. In the morning, cleanse your face thoroughly to ensure it is makeup-free, paying special attention to removing any eye makeup or mascara residue, especially from the lash line.

If you take daily allergy or sinus medication, remember to take it before your appointment, as excessively watery eyes can complicate false lash applications.

Lastly, wear a V-neck or button-front shirt or dress to easily change into your occasion attire without disrupting your hair or makeup.

What should Brides and bridal party members expect for the wedding date?

For bridal stylings on the wedding day, I aim to arrive at the venue 30 minutes before our scheduled start time to set up.

We will then begin a rotation for hair and makeup services, adhering to a carefully crafted schedule. Each bridal party member will have a reserved time slot for their hair and makeup.

  • During their scheduled time, each party member should come prepared with their desired look in mind and be ready to start on time. To ensure a focused environment, no phone calls or distractions will be allowed during this time. When it’s not their turn, the rest of the bridal party is welcome to set up, run errands, take care of any last-minute details, or simply relax and enjoy the day!
